MARIA PIA MUCCI
Maria Pia Mucci, inspired by surrealism and metaphysics is a multidisciplinary artist who uses different techniques: engraving (etching, drypoint, woodcut), acrylic, oil, collage and who takes her cue from science and literature, following her profession as a biologist and her passion for books.
Through the theme of the "City" she reflects on social evolution in urban contexts, focusing on the complexity of human relationships and on the critical issues of climate change.
Her works convey a profound vision of urban dynamics and human frailties from an exciting and colorful point of view and have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Slovenia, USA, Switzerland, Spain, France, Mexico, Luxembourg, England.
Some of works are part of private collections in Italy and abroad, and of public collections such as Palazzo del Pegaso - Regional Council - Florence and are published in various catalogues such as the Atlas of Contemporary Art De Agostini, the Catalogue of the III Bienal De Arte Barcelona, and Art magazines such as Art NOW, Biancoscuro, ART CODE.
